About the role

As a DevOps Release Engineer, you will be a key member of our fast-growing engineering team. You will help build, maintain, and scale our production platform. You will work closely with the development and operation teams to help identify areas of opportunities and work on key initiatives to meet company goals. A candidate must have demonstrated previous experience building and supporting scalable SaaS and platform-based systems. Alongside the day-to-day work, you will be a key part of growing the engineering and company culture from an early stage.

The work you’ll do

  • Negotiate, plan, and manage activities in the release management life cycle
  • multiple releases including feature releases and maintenance releases
  • Automation of all Kubernetes deployments to get to a true CI/CD
  • Work with development teams to train on gitops and ci/cd processes
  • Maintain the deployment schedule and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/NoGo reviews
  • Communicate release details including schedule, scope changes, and risks to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct release readiness reviews based on clearly defined readiness criteria
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage and escalate risks affecting release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Escalate gaps in software development, testing, release notes, and rollout plans needed for upcoming releases
  • Define and deliver improvements in the release processes and pipelines

What we’re looking for

  • 7+ years professional experience in software engineering
  • Experience managing multiple complex software releases
  • Experience with the following
  • Jenkins
  • CircleCI
  • Git and GitHub experience
  • Kustomize
  • Secrets management
  • Ci/CD
  • Kubernetes
  • GitOps
  • Terraform
  • Proficiency with languages such as Python and shell scripting for automation
